How have medical products in science fiction and medical products in our current world (until 2022) influenced each other and evolved?
In this research book, you will find a collection of examples, divided into categories, such as orthotics or prosthetics. These were either found in research papers, blogs, and articles, or I connected them on my own. Some of them have been declared by the inventors, whilst the others are up to us. Have they inspired each other?
Science fiction can be used to introduce new and futuristic medical possibilities to the public, and vice-versa, Sci-fi film directors hire science consultants to make their works more believable. So have they inspired each other?
Through this research, it has become clear that there are links between both worlds. The outcomes suggest that they overlap and inspire, which leads us to wonder, how many more amazing things the medical field has in store for us. How many fictional medical products can we translate into the real world?
